The Future of Forecasting is Here

CAN AN APP REALLY YOUR BUSINESS?
Weather conditions can change super fast, especially in the Midwest. When you’re trying to run a business, the impact of weather can help or hurt your schedule; generate or reduce income, especially when it catches you off guard. I personally have been caught off guard by customers that order large numbers of workers to shovel snow. In the past, if I had not watched the news at night or took the time to search out the forecast on the internet I would be completely caught off guard. I think back to the times when, as a kid, I would be eating breakfast with my grandpa and he would be reading the paper and would plan his week around the forecast. The good news is that I have evolved with the times. With the proliferation of useful apps I decided that it was time to move into the 21st century and figure out which one really works. I downloaded the top 10 hourly forecasting apps that use GPS. I navigated the apps looking for ease of use, accuracy and options. Some of them would tell me it was currently raining at my location when it was sunny, some of them just give you a general daily forecast, and other would tell me hour by hour it was going to snow but would offer no expected accumulation totals.
At the end of the day THE WEATHER CHANNEL app came out on top. Not only can you get current conditions, you get hourly forecasting, 10 day forecast, videos of national weather trends, radar of your area, social weather reports, airports conditions, flu reports, pollen, and even ski conditions with how much snow has fallen in the last 24 hours and predicted snow totals at your favorite resort. It’s pretty much a one stop shop for everything weather. One of the best features of this app is that you can create a profile and opt in for all kinds of automatic weather updates. And why shouldn’t The Weather Channel have the best app? They already have the resources and money to create a legit app, and they have. If anyone has found something better please let me know.
With the busy schedules we all keep it’s nice to know that you can set your preferences and get auto updated when certain weather patterns are predicted to emerge.
You can download the app for free on your device for free at the Google Play and Apple App Stores.
